West Berwick Elementary School

Owner: Berwick Area School District Project Description:

The 79,100 SF West Berwick Elementary School in Columbia County consists of a multitude of structural elements. The most interesting element of the project is the library roof which is a “green” roof covered in vegetation. The library roof structure is constructed of compound radius steel framing rolling in two directions. The observation balcony allow students to conduct projects on a portion of the roof.

The two-story classroom wing is constructed of load bearing masonry and concrete plank floor and roof. The multipurpose room and cafeteria are constructed of precast wall panels and prestressed double tee roof framing.
