State Route 30 Bypass

Owner: Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Project Description:

Keller Engineers teamed with Grannas Brothers Stone & Asphalt Co. to complete this design/build project in Bedford, PA. The project included the concrete pavement restoration and overlay of SR 30, Sec 027, known locally as the Bedford Bypass. The work included concrete patching, bituminous overlay, shoulder upgrades, guiderail improvements, inlet adjustments, concrete barrier modifications, signing, pavement markings, delineation, and signal upgrades for approximately 4 miles of east/west roadway and associated ramps.

The project design was completed on an accelerated schedule at the request of the client. All plans were completed and approved ahead of time for the contractor to begin construction in advance of PennDOT’s anticipated schedule.
