SR 0244, Sec A08 over Cryder Creek

Owner: PennDOT District 2-0 Project Description:

This project involved minor superstructure repairs and the replacement of the existing bridge deck carrying SR 0244 (Ellisburg Road) over Cryder Creek in Genesee Township, Potter County. The existing structure is a two-span, steel non-composite I-Beam structure, built in 1949 with a minor rehabilitation in 2012. The total structure length is 106′-0″. The center to center bearing distance for both spans is 52′-0″, and the clear spans are 49′-6″ for Span 1 and 49′-8″ for Span 2. It consists of two 11′ travel lanes with 4′ shoulders. The current bridge deck is 8″ min reinforced concrete deck with a PA Type 10M barrier. This project was constructed using a detour. SR 0244 will have minimal full depth approach roadway work with the overlay sections. The approach roadway was raised about 1′ to accommodate the proposed bridge deck height.
