Presbyterian Senior Living, Blair County
This project included design and construction of a three-story, 75,000 SF addition to an existing assisted living facility and nursing home. The addition houses 41-apartments and dining, social, and wellness areas. Site design included a drop-off loop at the front entrance and a parking facility that is partially covered by the building. Rain gardens and a butterfly garden control stormwater runoff and provide amenities to the site.
Keller Engineers’ Structural team designed the facility’s structural elements. The structure is wood frame including wood roof trusses, floor trusses, and some steel framing. The second floor is a steel frame due to the high floor to floor heights with wood truss infill. The area above the garage is steel framing with metal deck and concrete slab for a fire rating. This project’s first floor is concrete slab on grade. The foundations are shallow, column spread, and continuous wall footings supporting concrete piers and masonry foundation walls. A parking facility, partially covered by the building, was also designed.
Keller Engineers has been an extremely valuable asset for us in the development/construction of our store sites by providing accurate and timely structural and site development drawings and answers to related questions. Their response and turn-around time to the Sheetz Store Development Department has been outstanding. We have no hesitation in turning to Keller Engineers for our store structural and site development needs. Joe S. Sheetz, Executive Vice President, Finance & Store Development Sheetz Corporation
