PennDOT District 9-0, Bedford County
This project involved replacing the structure carrying SR 31 over the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River, near the intersection of Diehl Road (T-402). Built in 1931, the existing structure was an 87’, two-span concrete t-beam bridge. The replacement bridge used an 86’-10” span P/S concrete PA bulb tee beam superstructure on concrete abutments. The overall project included 1,715’-0” of approach roadway improvements including straightening of the alignment to eliminate existing sight distance challenges. Staged, partial width construction was utilized allowing improved alignment for this project.

Our partnership with Keller Engineers continued as we designed and completed the 2nd phase of the Shuster Way Heritage Trail in September of 2023.
